The Secret Aspects of Usui Shiki Ryoho
What is Usui Shiki Ryoho
Usui Shiki Ryoho is a specific branch or form of Reiki characterized by four “Aspects” and nine “Elements". Usui Shiki Ryoho is also known as the Usui System of Natural Healing and, like Reiki itself, is a Japanese Healing Art. The difference between Reiki and Usui Shiki Ryoho is that Reiki is the name Mikao Usui gave to the energy, just like many systems and school of thought call the universal life force energy responsible for health, vitality and well- being chi, prana or ki.
It is an advanced healing technique which is similar to the Shamanic “extraction.” Shamanic practitioners can too remove and dispel negative energy from the etheric body and subsequent subte planes of being, through similar intentions and visualizations.
Usui Shiki Ryoho and the “4 Aspects”
The four Aspects of this specific Healing Art are healing practice, personal development, spiritual discipline, and mystic order. Let’s explore these in more depth now.
1. Healing Practice: Reiki is primarily a healing practice, and inherently included is the offering of treatments. These are given by a Reiki practitioner or Master and include a series of hand- movements and positions.
Treatments can include directly healing the physical body or working above on the aura, or ether. There is said to be an “energetic blueprint” of our physical bodies, where all illness and disease manifests and begins, just above and beyond the physical body. Sometimes referred to as the etheric body and sometimes the auric field, in Reiki healing can take place of the subtle and astral planes.
2. Personal Development: Usui Shiki Ryoho leads to great self- development, transformation and personal self- discovery. Reiki energy stimulates the body’s self- healing mechanisms and activates consciousness on unseen levels. Both the subconscious mind and Higher Self can be sparked through the healing energy of Reiki, and this in turn can release blockages and imbalanced on the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual planes.
Any steps toward wholeness and healing is a major step in self- development, as we are essentially holistic beings. Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki stimulates personal development and self- healing through connect us to our cores, to our souls and inner spirit.
1. Spiritual Discipline: This system of Reiki healing has an intrinsic connection to spirit and thus it is a spiritual path and discipline. Linked to the second aspect is that Reiki initiates an increase in spiritual gifts, such as intuition and intuitive sight, psychic ability and awareness, and connecting to soul and self- evolved expressions of self. These “self- evolved” expressions may be the ability to communicate telepathically, perceive subtle energy, access dream states, or channel healing energy oneself; more powerfully if already a practitioner or simply by being natural attuned and awakened, in a sense, if receiving a treatment.
Many receivers of reiki who have never been attuned to the system, for example, report feeling unique sensations in their palm chakras (where Reiki energy is channeled through) and in the Third Eye chakra (the energy portal and center associated with spiritual and psychic gifts, and vision/ sight).
2. Mystic Order: Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki is a deeply mystical experience and order in itself. People who are attuned to this system become part of a unique group sharing a common practice and common goals, unifying them in a subtle but deeply profound way.
There is a reality beyond the realm of the five physical senses, and this is why Reiki is often referred to as a “Mystic Art.” Union of self and union with others, and the planet or universe as wholes, can be achieved and experienced through the mystical essence of the system. A sense of interconnectedness is felt and observed and an awakening to one’s inner spirit always occurs through being attuned to Reiki energy.
